WACO Homecoming Fly-IN
Weaver Aircraft Company in Lorain Ohio, in short WACO was founded in 1921. They were the leading manufacturer of civilian aircraft from 1928-1935. They moved in their current location in Troy in 1924. They made aircrafts in Troy until world war II.
The goal of WACO is now two fold. To preserve the history of the company and to create enthusiasm among the students using aircraft and aviation themes. They are doing it quite successfully. The group organize many events through out the year.
The upcoming event that might be very interesting is the WACO Homecoming Fly-In. People fly in from all parts of US to attend this event. The pilots will provide rides in their pen cockpit planes. WACO learning centre will present their various activities which includes paper airplanes, helicopters, rockets and much more. Restorers can buy aircraft parts for vintage aircrafts if they visit the Aviation Fly market between 9am-2pm. In the event you will get a chance to visit the WACO museum where you can see the WACO primary glider and the replica of 1902 Wright Brothers Glider along with many other interesting pieces.
