Harrison Tomb
Remembered mostly as a military hero, William Henry Harrison commanded the western army in the war of 1812. He had spent most of his life in Ohio & Indiana. History shows that he had performed varied actions, such as that of a secretary to the governor of the territory. This apart, he was also a senator, a representative & ultimately the president of the United States of America.
Located on Mt. Nebo in North Bend in the Hamilton County, 15 miles west of Cincinnati, the Harrison’s Tomb & monument contains the last remains of the ninth President of the United States. Rising sixty feet above the ground, this tomb is made of limestone, with the entrance made of marble. One can get a photographic view of the Ohio River Valley.
Admission to Harrison’s Tomb is free. It remains closed from December 15 to March 1, with the weekend of Harrison’s birthday being an exception.
